Streetwise Leadership

Safety and security, like risk management and leadership in general, is both art and science. It's a bit like driving a car. You can have a great vehicle and great skills, but that doesn't guarantee you won't be involved in an accident. You can, however, mitigate risk and, with the right approach, you can confidently deal with unforeseen problems.

Rob Redenbach not only provides a proven approach for dealing with unforeseen problems in a personal security scenario, his signature presentation Streetwise Leadership also provides proactive techniques anyone can instantly apply to defuse conflict, mitigate risk and benefit from change.

Approaching change as a leadership challenge and a personal responsibility, Streetwise Leadership equips delegates with practical tools for bridging the gap between knowing what to do, and actually doing it – when it counts!

"Rob filled every seat in the room at our conference, with franchisees standing and a line of people out the door that couldn’t get in. It was the most talked about session, and they all wanted more. He engages his audience with his honest approach without the over-the-top rah rah of other speakers."
Conference Organiser – Foodco Group

Streetwise Leadership has been presented to audiences ranging from 20 to 2000 people. Consistently ranked in the top 90% of conference appraisals, Rob blends humour, interactive demonstrations and hard facts in three conference presentation formats:

1) A breakfast/luncheon/dinner speech (30 – 40 minutes).
2) A keynote presentation (45 – 60 minutes).
3) An extended keynote (90 minutes).

"Rob Redenbach presented two sessions to our Regional Leaders Forum on 4 November 2011. Rob brought rich and tangible examples of his experiences in leadership and managing change, illustrated through key points and models. Feedback included: 'An excellent presenter, appropriate content, future focused', 'Provided the opportunity to reflect on approaches that are not often broached', 'Amusing, dynamic, interesting and presented some really relevant material.'"

Walking His Talk

When it comes to change, Rob Redenbach knows what he's talking about. From joining the army as a 17-year-old infantry soldier, Rob went on to earn awards for academic excellence at Masters level and complete executive education at Harvard University. From working as a casino bouncer in Alice Springs, Rob became the defensive tactics instructor of Nelson Mandela's Presidential Protection Unit in South Africa. From freelancing as a consultant for groups such as the United States FBI and the British SAS, Rob became a successful author and a sought-after guest speaker at conferences for industries ranging from finance to real-estate to travel and beyond.

The following is an extract from a 4-page feature article in Virgin Blue’s in-flight magazine Voyeur:

. . . Arguably, the most incredible part of Redenbach's life story is how he turned a career of combat training into an asset that business leaders find to be of such value. "How can the knowledge of empty-hand defensive tactics be applied to the corporate world?" asks Redenbach. "The answer to that is everything comes down to understanding people. Whether it's teaching English in Korea, arguing with drunken punters at a casino in the Northern Territory, managing a security company in Papua New Guinea, designing an extended leadership program for financial managers or delivering a 50-minute keynote presentation to a corporate audience at a five-star resort, it's about reading and working with people."
